Volunteer for CarpSlam
Volunteer Controllers are an essential part of the Denver Trout Unlimited Carp Slam. They measure, revive, and release all fish caught, report stats on all fish, monitor the tournament rules, and take tournament photos.
A Carp Slam Controller is an awesome opportunity if you love fly fishing and/or have been thinking about trying to figure out how to fish the South Platte River in and around Denver. Controllers are the “referees” of the tournament. They are assigned to a team to monitor rules and measure fish. It’s a full day on the water with a lot of fun hanging out, meeting new friends, and learning from some of the most accomplished anglers from Colorado and beyond.
DTU is looking for Controller volunteers to help with this year’s CarpSlam tournament. The fishing venue will be 15 beats on the Denver South Platte River from Oxford downstream to 120th Ave. You should be in good physical condition and willing to work the full day from 7 AM to 5 PM.
