CARP CASTING CONTEST  

September 28th at NOON Competition Starts at Confluence Park

CONTEST DETAILS:

Location:  Confluence Park in downtown Denver (2250 15th St, 80202)

Dates and Times: Sunday, June 28th from 12pm to 2pm. Prizes announced at 3pm

Description:  All ability levels are welcome!  There will be three targets in the water, each with a more difficult and higher value. Competitors will have 5 minutes to cast and the competitor in each age group with the highest points will win a prize. Fly rods will be supplied but competitors can bring their own.

Prizes by age group – under 12, 13- 18, 19-109.

We will accept first-come, first-serve registrations at the festival.  Please come prepared to fill out a brief application and pay your registration fees.

Fees: $5 for all ages!  Registration at the Riverfest Information Tent in Confluence Park.

Prizes:  Sevylor Stand Up Paddleboard for the top contestant! More information on other prizes to follow!

Rules: Kids under 12

– Must be accompanied by an adult who will register them.

– Kids will use a Tenkara rod furnished by Tenkara USA under the direction of Minturn Angler Pro – Graham Moran.

– Cast for 5 minutes and count the number of times the indicator lands in the target.

– Report the number of target hits to the Denver Trout Unlimited judge.

– Check carpslam.org/scores to see the results and if you finished in a winning category.

– Cast for 5 minutes total as determined by the judge.

– Cast to one target at a time and count the number of hits. When you move on to another target you CAN NOT cast return and cast to it again. That carp has been spooked.

– Report the number hits to the near, middle, and far targets hit to Denver Trout Unlimited judge. Judge and contestant must agree on hit count.

– Your score will be calculated by using 1 point for near, 3 points for middle, and 5 points for far targets.

– Check carpslam.org/scores  to see the results and if you finished in a winning category.
